New Years and other stuff

Ok, I guess I'm making two New Year's Resolutions:

1 - which I've already started, to lose weight. Actually my real goal is to be healthy, I'd like to lose weight, but my goal is to by the end of the year to walk 3 miles a day, 3 days a week, and to be eating 5 servings of veggies 4 days a week. I think I can accomplish that, and if so, its probably a good start.

2 - to make/restart more friendships. Either online or face to face. I'd like to meet people, and have more people to interact with. I'm going to look around and maybe find a book club to join, or a local exercise group by the end of January. I'm also going to try to meet people online, join some message boards maybe - I just went and checked out IVillage, I'll see how that works.

Back to my life. LOL. In November Andrew Dave and I went to the Big Apple Con in NYC - across from Madison Square Garden. It was really cool, actually Law & Order Criminal Intent was filming right outside the hotel, which was neat to see, since I love Law & Order. Anyway, Andrew and I went on Friday, and Dave went with us on Saturday. One of the people we met, Scott Schwartz, was pretty awsome. I have a pic with him, which is also posted below in my photo album (bottom of the page, where it says VIEW MY PHOTO GALLERY.) He is a nice guy, and according to his bio on his site is 6'10" - pretty tall. And for those of you who don't realize this, he's also 2 feet taller then I am - pretty scary, huh?

and yes, I have on cat ears in that pic. And a batman shirt, since later that day I met Adam West and Val Kilmer

Sigh

so I ended up feeling horrible last night at my mother in law's. Andrew's Cousin and his uncle are visiting so we went over for dinner. I was fine, and then after eating I felt like I was going to throw up, and feverish. So Andrew and I left to bring me home. The good thing is I felt better after a few hours, and feel even better today, but still not fantastic. I'm still planning on going out tonight though, but we'll see about drinking, depends on how I feel later. At least we really have nothing planned for today, so I can rest up.

Stuff

So I got to sleep in some today, which is nice, maybe I'll feel a bit better today. Anyway, last night was neat, I ran into a woman I used to work with, Linda, at CVS. She seems to be doing well. Andrew is still enjoying his ps3, which is good, after all the work to get him one. He registered it online last night, that was an involved process. But he found that they had a free downloadable game for Sudoku he got for me. I haven't tried it yet.
In other exciting news... ok I don't really have any. LOL.

ugh

sometimes I hate being me.
For those of you who don't know I have Fibromyalgia. This is a chronic pain condition, which also involves alot of exhaustion. Anyway, was having a decent day, got alot done at work, then went shopping, got some storage units, came home and cooked and cleaned a bit, and now feel like I'm going to fall over. Bah, it sucks.

Anyhoo... there is a guest map now at the bottom right, so go ahead and mark off on the map where you are in the world, and there is a lovely poll at the top which should deeply reveal your innermost thoughts.

Oh, and in case you don't know Buni, a Klondike Bar is chocolate covered ice cream, I have no idea if they sell them in Germany.
ok, I'm off to finish cooking and sit around like a lump, later all.

CAT

HEEEEEEEEEEEEEREEEEEEE'SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS BOOKER.

PS3 and other stuff

Yay Andrew finally has a PS3. Evidently his brother was in Best Buy today, and heard a guy say that he thought they had them in the mall at EBX(no I don't know which mall). So he (Matt) ran over to the mall and got the last PS3 for Andrew. YAY!
So in other exciting news...
I walked to the mechanic today to get my mom's truck. I figured it was a good distance for walking. Turns out it's .98 miles, which is good, and I used my new weights.
Last night I got some new books, I've been reading tons of romance novels before I go to bed, so I went and got 5, Borders had a buy 4 get one free, and I had 10% off AND like a $2 and change credit, so it was really like getting 2 books free. Plus I had the gift card to use.
Now I'm waiting for the Aquarium people to call me back. I wanted to find out some more details about my special "meet your adopted penguin" visit which will be February 3rd. I'm not sure if we still have to pay admission to the Aquarium and stuff. Andrew and I are going to go down the night before, stay in a hotel in that area, and be there for our 10 am parent time LOL. No idea what will happen, but its a nice aquarium, and its supposed to be a behind the scenes visit, what ever that means. By the way, down in the bottom right of my blog should be a penguin painting - as in painted by a penguin. its so cute. LOL.
Not alot of news about Gene - he won't be out until tomorrow the earliest is what I understand. I'm still praying for him and his wife Marie.
So I guess that's all for now - later all.

Gene

I just found out Gene is in the hospital, and that's all I know. I am praying for him, and hoping everything works out alright.

Con's coming up where I will - probably - be

http://www.bigapplecon.com/ Big Apple Con - This is going to be cool, because it will be free admission. Andrew, Dave & I went to their last one in November and it was great, alot of fun. This will hopefully be fun, and cheaper. LOL

http://www.dexposure.com/d2007.html Dreamation. This will be in New Brunswick NJ, so probably I'll work at it. This is a gaming convention, and the past 2 for them I've worked their reg desk, which for me is really quite nice. They are a great bunch of people, and alot of fun, a real party atmosphere. Unfortunatly I still have to give my official yes, but I should be able to do that Thursday.

Basically, Andrew and I have been going to alot of conventions lately, they are alot of fun, and at least something "different" to do. Plus in the NJ area you could practically go to a con or vendor show every weekend, there are so many. So its something he and I do together.
We've met alot of "stars" too, though I use that term a bit loosely. The biggest star we've met is Val Kilmer, he wasn't really a nice guy though. But I have a book now of autographed art and photos from people I've met, its pretty cool.
Ok, I guess that's it for now - later!!

Lonely

Sigh, this is why I don't do much with Blogs usually - and yes Anna, why I never got involved with myspace. Makes me feel friendless. Because even if people are checking it out, they don't comment or anything - LOL.

ok quick note, I know Buni, Anna and Rain have posted some sort of hello, and Buni and Anna have posted many comments - this isn't really about you guys. And I know some others have been reading the blog, because they'll mention it in convo with me, so its not that, just Bleah...

Basically, I don't really know what to write about. I try to at least cover whats going on in my day. And, no I don't really think anyone DEEPLY cares about my day to day life, its pretty stupid and boring - because I am pretty stupid and boring LOL. But I guess I was just hoping that some of my friends would at least say "hi" here from time to time, so I wouldn't feel so, lonely.

But, I guess, when it comes down to it, that's really my own fault. I've become very bad at meeting people, and I'm also bad at the effort involved in keeping up relationships. Andrew is much better at it. Which is why he has friends to hang out with LOL.

So basically, while I'm thrilled beyond belief that Buni and Anna are communicating with me through my blog, its also kinda driving home my overall problem, which is that I really need to find more friends.

Very important note - if you don't feel like commenting or anything please don't feel like you HAVE to now since I've whined, I'm really just venting a bit. :) I'll be better tomorrow.

Fuzzy Pics

So here is a really fuzzy Ghost Rider Bear & Wonder Bear From Deana . Sorry still figuring out the camera, I'll get a better shot eventually I'm sure. But I think these guys are pretty cool.

More about Christmas

I forgot my clock from my parents as well.

So what other people got from me and Andrew - and what Andrew got.
My mom got a book of trains and a snow globe train - each car had a different winter snow globe.
My dad got driving gloves, and a Inu Yasha calendar.
My mother-in-law got a Stamp Santa, for display.
Andrew's brother got a gaming book, another one is coming, his Aunt got a cross with a chain, his uncle a best buy gift card, and his mother's cousin a table runner.

Andrew got from me a stained glass Dragon - named Kemosabi(all white with a black face, in other words, the lone ranger), some video games, a starwars calendar, a photograph of a wolf by a professional photographer, and a really cool little statue - its a bear ghost rider. I also got myself a bear wonder woman a while ago, if I can get the camera hooked up to the computer, I will try to post a picutre of them. They were made by this woman Deana, who we first learned of at a convention Chiller Theater which we went to at halloween. These figures she makes are awsome, and each is one of a kind. Really awsome.

Oh, Andrew got some nice stuff from my parents, he got a portable pool table, some gaming books, and some novels he wanted. All in all, it was a nice christmas, and I hope everyone elses was just as nice.

Feel free to comment and let me know how yours went - I'd love to hear about it.
Later!

Frohlich Weihnachten - I think that's what I mean to say

yes that's for you Buni, and any other Germans who wander by. LOL
Anyway, just got home from my mother-in-law's house from dinner and presents. Today went pretty well. First Andrew and I did presents- I got a Penguin and a Penguin as well as a nutcracker, a two lumps ooooooooooooooooooooooo t-shirt, and Snooch and Eben and choco cat stuff. My parents got me a bunch of stuff, some tops for work, a camera, a Wizard of Oz calendar, chocolate, another nutcracker - yeah, I have alot, but I love them - some Sudoko stuff, and wow its all starting to blend in my head. At my mother-in-laws I got the Eric Bishoff book from my brother in law, a wonderful gift card for Borders from my mother-in-law, my husband's aunt and uncle got me a beautiful sweater, and my cousin-in-law (husband's mother's cousin lol) got us a very nice incense dispenser, and cat toys. Oh and my mother-in-law gave me and Andrew some money as well.

The dinner from Stop and Shop was nice, we all enjoyed it. Dinner (ham) with Andrew's family was very nice as well. Getting tired so I'm going to go now. I guess tomorrow I'll mention all the great stuff Andrew got and some of the stuff we gave as well. good night everyone.

Merry Christmas

I'll post later and let everyone know what I got, but Merry Christmas Everyone!
Luke 2:9 - 11
Then an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid: for see - I am bringing you good news of great joy for all the people: to you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is the Messiah, the Lord.

Last night

So presents last night. Not all, just from my sister and her husband, and the gaming group.

Lets see, I got Lottery Tickets, a really cool of throwing bladed playing cards - just the aces, its a great set, and a cool book on how to live with a neurotic cat, which was really funny.

I got from my sister 2 handpainted nutcrackers, as in painted by her. If you don't know, I collect nutcrackers. They are beautiful, the ones from my sister, and so unique looking, color wise, not the typical color scheme for nutcrackers. Which is good. my requirements for nutcrackers are that they have to have the teeth, they have to have a working handle/mouth, and they have to be different, not just a red uniformed soldier. I also got from them a book on the wisdom of Kermit, which looks wonderful.

I hope everyone liked their gifts, Andrew picked out Joeys - it was a source book for a game he runs. Sam we got a gift card to Best Buy for, we weren't exactly sure what he wanted, so it seemed a good solution.

Gene we got a history of the Marine Corp. He seemed to like it, and its a beautiful book.

For my sister we gave her some Alpaca wool yarn, she is very into and extremely good at knitting, so I thought she'd be able to make something nice with it. For Greg we got him a 2 month prepaid World of Warcraft payment card, this way he can play on us for 2 months.

All in all, it was pretty nice. I hope everyone had a good time.
now I'm tired though. LOL. wow its christmas eve, santa should be running through soon.
later.

my day so far

I forgot to mention, my dad and I went today to get Christmas Dinner from Stop and Shop - which is a supermarket, and a pretty big one, near our house. I ordered the Turkey dinner from them a few days ago, and we went today to get it and pay for it. It went very well, and if the food is good, then we may start doing this every year. Just shopping for everything would normally have take 3 times as long as picking it up did.
The Turkey will take 2 hours to heat up, but everything else is microwavable, and there were 2 pies. Its supposed to feed 8-10 people, its a 10 lb turkey, with mash potatoes, squash, broccoli, and lots of other stuff. I'll let you all know if its good or not.

More about my Grandfather

http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,793749,00.html

My dad showed me this article today, it was written in May 1947 about my Grandfather. Its in time magazine. Evidently there was a photograph with it, which I am going to see if Time can send me a copy of it.

Hello again

Well, I've not been on the computer the past few days, nothing wrong, just blah.
Lets see, my boss gave me a gift card to Chilli's and that was it at work, no presents, 3 cards. Its kinda depressing. In my last position I had piles of stuff. Of course in my last position I helped alot more people. So its more stress and presents, or less stress and no presents.

My dad seems to be doing well with his Father's passing away, which is good.

My sister is down now from Massachusettes - yeah, no idea how to spell that. She and her husband. Which is nice, and has made my parents happy. Today we'll all exchange presents with them, though we won't do presents with my parents until Christmas, but Kris and Greg need to go home tomorrow. Since Sundays are normally involved for my parents - because they are pastors - and then you add that its Christmas eve, its a bad day for presents.

Tonight we'll see the gaming group and exchange gifts, which will be nice too. I'm excited about giving some of the gifts - we got a nice one for Gene, and for my sister. I like getting gifts too, but trust me, I don't expect much these days. my parents will give me some nice stuff I'm sure, so will Andrew.

Oh, Dave gave me a great present. I felt bad that we just got him a gift card, but I did explain that we wanted him to get something for his ps3 with it, we were just worried that other people would give him stuff for the ps3 and this way he could get something he didn't get otherwise. But anyway, Dave gave me this Muppet video game, where they go on a cruise and you do mini-games. we were playing it Thursday, cause its 4 player. Its fun.

Ok, that's pretty much it for now. Have fun all.

Oops, I meant to say they have to go home sunday. sorry. my stupidity

Odd thoughts

so its hard picking a bible verse for a card. LOL. I chose Lamentations 3:22 The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, his mercies never come to an end.
I hope that makes sense to her, that she can still turn to God for comfort.

Also, I've added a chat box and a guest book, so please sign in, or say hi to someone you don't know LOL.
oh, and if you have a blog you'd like me to link to, send me an email, I'll be happy to. Also, feel free if you think you know some people I know, who I may not have sent an email to about this blog, to send them a link. Its probably just I don't have their email, and I'd love to hear from them, and to let them know how I am!
Thanks

Got a new wallet today. I recently got my 5 year anniversary present from work - a coach bag, so I got today an "almost" matching wallet to use with it.
Yeah, not that exciting, I know

More about Grandpop

I gather they were married for over 70 years, which is an amazingly long time to live with another person. He was a minister, presbyterian (no I don't think I spelled that right). And he used to live in Maine before Texas. I almost remember the house too, it was really nice, I stayed there a few times when I was little.
My father seems to be doing ok right now, which is good. I'm a bit worried about him, but Mom said he wasn't bad.

Work wasn't bad today, but we had this party, that was funnish, but kinda a waste of time. We made gingerbread houses. As a team building exercise. They are on display in the office now. My team made a snow man with Marshmallows out front. Which I loved.

hrrrm. what else to write... not much I guess. Like I said, I have a boring life.

Grandpop

So my grandfather, my Dad's father just passed away today. I just found out a few minutes ago. Evidently he died during the day, my parents were out for my mom's Chemo and just found out a little bit ago. Unfortunately I can't go down now, but he didn't want a funeral, or a fuss, so its not too big of a deal.
I've always felt a little bad, because I'm not good at staying in touch with people, so I didn't write or call alot. I went down with Andrew like 2 years ago, but we can't afford to go every year, so I haven't seen my grandparents alot in recent years, on either side. They are in TX and I'm in NJ, so its a little rough.
I do have good memories though. And I am praying for my grandmother. They were together most of their lives, I don't remember how long, but very long. He was 93.
I guess that's it right now.
Later all.

Blah

First day back to work after 5 days off, its SOOOOOOOO hard to go back. And today sucked I spent like 2 hours photocopying, and the copier just insisted on messing up the order of all the originals (and I mean, if I put in 2 pages it messed it up). And it sat there "adjusting" for 15 minutes at one point, what the heck does that mean?
Evil machine.
But I gave out all the reindeer candy canes I made to use for presents, which is nice. People seemed to like them. And there wasn't a huge pile of work like I thought there would be, which is also nice.
Though now people send me emails with work, yucky. At least there were no Voice mails.
So in other news... actually I don't have much. My sister will be here Thursday for Christmas, which will be good for my mom. Still have to figure out what to do for Christmas dinner with my parents though.
We have gotten all the presents. Two still haven't shown up yet for Andrew, and his one friends, and one of his brother's isn't here yet.
Oh, Andrew wrapped all my presents, so I got to see what the shapes and sizes are. But... and Andrew don't read this sentence... I know what one is, and have a guess what another is already. Though there are quite a few, so I may still have some surprises, which will make me happy LOL.
ok, have fun guys, I'm off to play games.

Comic Con

http://www.nycomiccon.com
Feb 23 - 25 is NY Comic Con. Andrew and I are planning on going, I'm figuring after Christmas we'll pre-order the tickets with money that we've gotten for Christmas. We'll be going on the 24th I think, which is the Saturday. At least most likely we will.
After all, lots of things can happen between now and then, but we went last year and loved it, and I can wear my wonderwoman costume again. Which would be nice.

Last year we went with Dave, got alot of nice autographs and had a good time. Unfortunately, my mom was supposed to go as well, and wasn't able to last minute, and it looks like she won't be able to this year either. Which is too bad.
ok, later all.

Christmas Carol

So we saw a Christmas Carol yesterday, it was nice, very well done. The group was me, Andrew, Matthew, Joey, and Andrew's Mom, and we all seemed to enjoy it.
The only real problem I had, was that they used stobe lights for when the ghosts were taking scrooge places, and it was very difficult on the eyes. I had to keep putting my hand over my eyes during those parts.
Then we went to Andrew's mother and played some games and such for a bit. Which was nice. And it got really cold last night.
not much more to talk about, so later all.

OOPS

Sorry to all the non Blogger users, I didn't realize I had the blog set so you had to be a member to post. I've fixed it, so feel free to say hi!
Keri

8:30 am. SIGH I WANT TO SLEEP

LOL, so its 8:30 am and I've been up already for awhile reading. I am so sick of this, I can't sleep in, and I'm sooooo tired. I should just run to best buy and see about a ps3, but I'm sick of being there. the employees all seem to have different stories, and can't tell if they are lying or telling the truth.

So Dave was over again yesterday, so actually all three of us went for a walk. Then they played Marvel Alliance on PS3 - since at least Dave has one. They seemed to enjoy the game. I played for about 30 seconds. Which isn't long enough to decide if its good or not. But there is no Wonder Woman, so how good could it be?

Today we are going to see A Christmas Carol - Community Theater. http://www.circleplayers.com/page18.html
Our friend Chris is in it, and a few other people we know from Faire, so we'll go and be out and I'll feel like I have a life for a bit. LOL

Was just reading my friends blog, I'm worried about her, but don't know what to do. She's so far away, and has so much trouble right now. But even though I can't really help I'm sending her a GIANT HUG. Covered in cat hair, because everything in my house seems to be.

Hopefully I'll have a nice day. And all of you will as well!

Still no PS3

Still no PS3, and I really don't want to go back again tomorrow. so I probably won't. It isn't even like there are any games I'll want to play really yet, so meh. But at least we've tried. On the bright side I think all of the Christmas shopping is done now, which is good. Got the last items at Best Buy today. Its so warm out now, its pretty funny, like the winter just won't come. I'll probably go for a walk later, hopefully with Andrew.
Had a weird dream last night, Booker(my cat in case you don't know) got shot in the face with BB's. so I came down and checked on him at 2:00 am to make sure he was ok. Yeah, I didn't really think anything happened, but sometimes its just nice to look and make sure.
ok, later all.

Thursday, December 14, 2006

Playstation 3's

So I was at Best Buy today from like 8:30 until around 12:00, no PS3's . sigh, Andrew was in another location and they didn't have any there either. I might go out tomorrow, not sure yet, depends on how I feel. Went to the mall for lunch, that sucked, the guy making the orders decided to throw mine out without making it, so I had to wait around for it. Idiots. Anyway, now I'm being pissy so I guess I'll stop now. LOL Later all.

Wednesday, December 13, 2006

Hi From Keri

Hello! I've decided to try to keep a blog. I'm not going to promise to post every day, but hopefully a few times a week, and to let people know about major events in my life.

I'm not the best at keeping in touch with people online, I'm hoping this will help me do that.
So check back periodically, and please post comments to let me know how you are as well. I'll probably link things I find interesting in the news and stuff as well.

Ok, have a good day!
